Day 15 - Living it Up

This is the view passing the emergency room at the left side going to the side entrance of the hospital building (Medix)

11379 steps!

Whew! All those walking to the hospital paid off... Just kiddin, this shot was taken in the morning.. But the real deal was when I walked for about an hour in our front yard... It was fun. My nephew, Macky, joined me while walking and we got to bond... We have a scheduled jog at the park tomorrow but I' not so sure if it will push through because the I only slept for an hour earlier due to a scheduled brown out... And with no electricity, it was really hot this summer.. Surely, I'll be knocked out as soon as I reach home tomorrow from work...

Day 14 - Lazy Days

1235 steps!

Hmm, I finished only 1235 steps... Maybe I have becoming lazy lately or really exhausted by the things happenning around me, I don't know.. But look at the bright side, my chucks will last a day longer than if I have used it and walked today.. Hahaha..

Maybe I should look for better music for my ipod to keep me moving...

Day 13 - Home Bug

My walking buddies - ipod and dumbells.

6129 steps!
Since working out outside seems next to impossible for me.. What I did was walk around the house and even inside my room... It was great, not nearly enough but a good number of steps nonetheless... I walked while reading, while listening to music, and even while holding a pair of dumbells for resistance.. it was great! I want to move! Move! Move! Move!

Day 12 - Missin' the Park

Hmm, I promised to visit the park more often and be able to walk miles upon miles.. Guess this will have to wait till next week.. Can't wear contacts right now and I'm having trouble with vision through my glasses.. Sigh!

1685 steps!

Wow, this is an all time low for this week, i think.. I just be losing my grip.. Well, my dad's in the hospital and I just got back from the night shift there and when I went home - knockout! I just slept the whole day which explains the meager number of steps I accumulated. Sigh, nonetheless, there's always tomorrow!

Day 11 - Dreaming of a Farm

This was a picture I took obviously not today... It's from a nearby farm that we go to for recreation. Wish I could once again walk those lane.

5190 steps!

Hmm, seems like the numbers are going down.. I promised myself 15,000.. Maybe getting sick is a part of it.. oh well.. maybe I'll just have to catch up next week.. blasted eyes.. lol...

Day 10 - RP Mall

This is the Robinson's Place in our hometown near the fountains!

7782 steps!

Today, nothing much happened. After work, I just hang out at my friend's dorm eating a half pound of chocolates with almonds - don't worry, we shared it. After that, we went to a loan center where my friend renewed a loan. After being approved, we walked to a nearby bank and cashed the check.

We went malling buying stuff that we don't actually need and she treated me to lunch! Pasta and Spaghetti for me! Yey!

After going home, I just fell straight into bed. I didn't even made it to my own bed so I fell asleep in my brother's room - only to be waken up in the middle of the night by him and being asked to transfer to my own room.

Day 9 - A Day at the Park

This is the view from behind the offices and washrooms and ahead, right side, is the children's playground.

12971 steps!

It's the first day, me and my friend started walking at the local park, and hopefully, it will be a regular habit. All was fine in the beginning but I guess, next time, it'll be best if we come earlier, around 7am (we went there around 8am) and apply lots and lots of sunblock.

Going back, the walk was a treat to itself. We were able to walk about 10rounds or so (a round being approx. 300meters) while talking endlessly about highschool life and the walking itself. That's what's great being away for college. It gives you opportunities to catch up when you get back... lol...

Till next time!

Day 8 - Snooze Alert

9393 steps!

I was happy reaching about 9thou steps before the sunset and decided to rest in bed for a while. Little did I know that I will wake up 6am the following morning... Sheesh! I was confident that the 10,000 steps will smoothly come my way but I was wrong... Sigh! But no matter... I still have a myriad of days to come. And since I already reached 10k yesterday, I'm planning on working on my next target which is 15,000 steps! Well, good luck to me!

Day 7 - Target Hit!

10,191 steps!

There you have it! My first target hit! Haha! Now that I have reached 10,000 steps for a day, I'm raising up the ante. Actually, the reason why I chose 10,000 was because of an ault milk commercial that encourages women in their 40's and 50's to drink milk and do 10,000 steps a day. And since I'm just in my 20's, it think it's safe to say that I can take a wee bit more foot stress than that! Wahahaha! Just kidding.. I mean it just goes to show that I'm not moving enough, right?

Anyway, the number of those steps is credited for watching a softball game earlier.. Yes, walking around trying to get a good spot for viewing the game cost that much steps. Not to mention walking around trying to find a store for a quench a thirst caused by the summer heat and later being forced to run for cover when the sky suddenly burst with gigantic raindrops.

It also helped that when I went home later that evening, my brother was going around our front yard for more than an hour - power walking. And so I was inspired to do the same.

Day 6 - Lady Luck

This is a 10peso-coin I found on the ground while walking.

5871 steps!

Today, I also walked from office all the way home. It really feels good every time I'm able to do so. It reminds me that although I'm sedentary most of the time, I still have the energy to do monumental walking (well, for me, at least). And I feel healthy while walking, I feel like walking until the time that my body can no longer move... The only problem is that walking in the busy metropolis may take a toll with my health.. Yep folks, pollution's getting in the way again. But look at the bright side, with walking, I saved 7pesos for the jeepney ride home and also, I found a 10peso-coin lying on the ground! HAHA!

Day 5 - Best Count

This is the view I have when walking home... Just turn left at the end of the road and you'll see the red gate opening to our compound.

7234 steps!

Yep, no more manual counting for me... I got my very first pedometer last night! And because of that, I was inspired to walk from the office all the way home... And before I knew, I got 7234 steps! Yeah! Well, I didn't reach the 10,000 target yet but I'm getting there! haha!

Friday, March 7, 2008

Day 4 - Errands

1728 steps!

Okay, this will be the last time that I'll ever have to count manually! hahaha! Anyway, I spent the day with a couple of errands like going to the city hall for a certified true copy of my birth certificate and cedula (local tax) - that was a drag! Haha.. The system here will really get you walking from buildings end to end! Then I went near my high school alma mater for the travel and tours located in the vicinity hoping for some travel packages. And then, straight to the mall to watch a movie and dine with my niece.. It was fun - not enough steps though, but I love the movie!

Day 3 - Mall

2313 steps!

whew! Still not enough.. sigh..
No pictures for the day...
I hope tomorrow will be sweeter..

Day 2 - Hu-humm...

This is the view walking from the office going to the street...

1534 steps!
Wow, the 10,000 a day target was harder than I thought.

I will need some major lifestyle adjustments for this to be possible. And it doesn't help that my work involves staring at the computer monitor a solid 8 hours a day, everyday. Hmm, it's my restday tomorrow, maybe things will be better...

Day 1 - Big Leap

This is the view from our front yard...

1477 steps!
A thousand steps for me and virtually no relevance for mankind!

This post will be the first of many. 1,477 steps is a far cry from my 10,000 target for the day but it will have to do for now. But hey, I'm just warming up people. Plus, I don't have a pedometer yet so this is still manual counting and not all steps made it to the count for obvious reasons.

Until tomorrow...

MIssion Vision

I will start logging my progress on the 11:59th hour of March 4, 2008. That will cover the day's achievement.

My goal is 10,000 steps a day but hopefully, that number will be exceeded.

Attached with the report will be pictures of the scenery that my eyes might set upon. That way, you can also see the beauty and tragedy that will accompany me on my journey.
